    Fabulous

I thought this hotel was clean, friendly and value for money.I would definately stay there again

    Good

good transport links ie. bus taxi & metro, good value overall

room smelt musty, lights over the twin beds so low you hit your head on them room 322.

    Fabulous

Room, shower, toilet and towels were spotless clean. English breakfast was very good too.

There was an alarm clock hanging to the wall just above my bed's head board and could not make it stop. Its ticking noise kept me awake until I was really tired. (True, I get waken up easily!)

    Very good

The breakfast was very good and the staff were pleasant. The location was handy for the city centre and university and the area was pleasant.

Room was a bit small and the building being, a terrace knocked together was a bit odd.

the hotel was nice and clean, the staff were friednly and the room was nice and comfortable.

  • 7.8
    Fabulous

Standard of room and facilities made this hotel very good value for money in comparison with some other cities

The location is ideal - restaurants & bars close by and good access via metro to city centre.

Light fittings in the room were not working. No hairdryer provided until requested. Hot water supply to bathroom poor.

    Exceptional

I stayed there because my daughter was in Freeman hospital, excellent location for people who have patient in hospital. Didn't use the bar but would have done had the reason for my stay been different. Lovely hotel would recommend.

My only complaint would be that the shower was not powerful enough so i could not wash my hair.

    Fabulous

Based in Jesmond, Newcastle, the Cairn Hotel was in an ideal location and met our needs perfectly. With the Metro station only a 5 minute walk away which gave access to Newcastle City Centre and the surrounding area.

For some reason it was difficult to control the temperature of the room. We stayed one night and after ensuring the heating was turned off had to sleep with the window open. This would be no problem in the winter, however during April it made the say a little uncomfortable.

    Good

friendly staff, nice location, average facilities, you get what you pay for.

we were told about breakfast we went down and were charged £6.50 and the only thing on offer was fruit and cereal we were disgusted and asked for our money back previously when i have stayed at the hotel there was cooked breakfasts that was not an option this time and we were not happy we found a cafe down the road that was cheaper and provided us with cooked food.

The hotel was in a good area close to shops and bars ,the room was very spacious ,the bed very comfy, it has a 24hour reception ,night porter was very nice to us ,

The one thing is the bath room, whilst being rather old looking ,the need of a good scrub was just making it look even older , if I was staying for any longer than one night I would of had to bleach the shower area , as it was looking a bit grubby ,the sink and toilet were clean though

    Staff friendly, prompt room service.

Room needed panting as there were marks on walls.no lift in hotel with narrow corridors so hard to get suit case to room. Some pulg sockets needed repair as hanging off wall. Tv only had 3 channels which were of poor pitcure.

    Good

Situation, in an lively littlel "village" Nice to have coffee and cookies

The bed was to short, the shower was to cold late in the evening but was exelent in the morning

    The convienence to the metro.

The hotel is dirty, and needs a good clean, the carpets are threadbare, the public toilet smells terrible and over powers you as soon as you enter the hotel from the carpark, we stayed for two nights unfortunately, our room was not cleaned on the second day of our stay, and the bed sheets contained hair from the previous guests, I slept in my clothes to avoid contact with the bedding, my husband has returned from our stay with bites on his legs (flee) we have no pets of our own. I would not recommend this hotel nor would i stay again, I would rather sleep rough. The only positive we can give about our stay was checking out and coming home.
